Careers & Internships

Our vision for the future grows from the powerful commitment of Maine people to tackle climate change; safeguard our air, land, and water; protect voting rights; and nurture economic opportunities afforded by clean energy and good environmental stewardship.

Our strategic plan, approved in 2020, centers all of our work through a race equity lens, recognizing that racial justice is inextricably linked to our pro-climate, pro-democracy efforts.

Are you looking for a career or internship in the movement to protect Maine’s environment, climate, democracy, and communities? We are always on the lookout for great people to join our team. Send a message to us at info@maineconservation.org, with a resume introducing yourself!

Intern/Fellow Program

As an organization dedicated to building a better future for all, MCV has a strong commitment to mentoring emerging leaders through internships, externships, and paid fellowship opportunities.

Part of that commitment includes working with each intern, extern, and fellow to identify and cultivate passions and to build issue-area expertise and a professional network.

We’re able to uphold that commitment by identifying when we can offer the structure and support so necessary for a meaningful internship — and by being honest with ourselves about when we can’t.

Flowing from that, we offer the following opportunities:

  • Summer Fellowship (One Position, May-August): Applications for summer fellowships are open in February each year.
  • Maine Law (Fall Semester, Spring Semester as capacity allows): Please contact Anthony Moffa of the University of Maine School of Law for more information.
  • Colby (Summer Internship through Buck Lab, JanPlan as capacity allows): Please contact Gail Carlson of Colby College for more information.
  • Bowdoin (Summer Internship through Environmental Studies Program): Please contact Eileen Sylvan Johnson of Bowdoin College for more information.
