Rewilding Invasive Species

Invasive species are organisms that are not native to a particular environment. They are often unintentionally introduced through human activities such as trade, travel, and agriculture and reproduce quickly, outcompeting native species. Invasive species can significantly harm ecosystems by disrupting the balance of native flora and fauna, potentially leading to biodiversity loss and habitat degradation. Thus, managing them is vital to preserving biodiversity and ecosystem health.

Join Zack Rouda from Rewild Maine to learn how to manage invasive species sustainably. Zack will teach us to effectively identify and manage the invasive species we see in our backyards without using harmful chemical herbicides. We’ll also explore non-traditional solutions, including using invasive species for food and craft materials.
