Maine Conservation Voters Launches New Digital Ad To Encourage Maine’s Lawmakers to Keep Fighting for a Clean Energy Future

AUGUSTA, ME – Today, Maine Conservation Voters (MCV) launched a new ad supporting Maine’s forward-looking approach to accelerating 100% clean energy production and creating jobs.
The ad launches as oil and gas companies and their allies in Congress are taking advantage of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine to line their own pockets while Mainers shoulder the cost.

“Conservation leaders in Maine’s Legislature understand that the only lasting solution to high, unreliable energy costs is reducing our dependence on foreign oil and investing in clean, renewable energy,” said Rani Sheaffer, Deputy Director of Maine Conservation Voters.
Throughout the 130th Legislative Session, lawmakers in Augusta helped pass dozens of bills to help Maine reach its goal of achieving 80% clean energy production by 2030 including, establishing a Maine Climate Corps; continuing research to support offshore wind development; advancing energy storage capabilities in Maine; establishing a “Green Bank” to finance climate solutions; and promoting renewable energy development in Northern Maine.
MCV’s new ad ‘Maine’s Conservation Leaders are Fighting for Our Clean Energy Future’ is a response to right-wing attacks that blame rising gas prices on Maine lawmakers who support clean energy investments. These claims have already been debunked.
