MCV Applauds Governor Mills’ Commitment to Climate Action this Earth Day

AUGUSTA, ME – Today, the Mills Administration announced that $2.5 million in grant funding would be awarded to 75 communities across Maine to help them fight climate change. The grants come from the Community Resilience Partnership, a program of the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, which helps support local climate action plans in their work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and become more resilient to climate impacts.
Today marks the 52nd anniversary of Earth Day.
Statement of Kathleen Meil, Director of Policy & Partnerships, MCV:
“Governor Mills has chosen a path of action over words this Earth Day. Allocating substantial and necessary investments to help tackle the current and future impacts of climate change at all levels of government in all 16 counties signifies the Mills Administration’s commitment to proactive climate action and the sustainability of resilient and healthy communities.”
