Mercury
An Act to Protect Maine Families and the Environment by Improving the Collection and Recycling of Mercury Thermostats
With passage of this legislation, Maine will further reduce mercury pollution generated as a result of consumer products that contain mercury. The bill establishes a recycling program for mercury-containing thermostats, so that when these old devices are removed from service the mercury is not released to the environment.
